“Just had a great intro to MMA session last night with Brian. It was excellent! I'm not a newbie by any means, but I definitely need some attention in order for me to understand what to do and to get a good workout. Brian was able to give me a great intro workout to see what I can do, and was able to work around my deficits in order to scale things for me to succeed. It was very thorough! The other present trainers and clients were also very warm and inviting and made me feel like it was a family-like setting. Place is very clean and the mats were perfect for this type of activity! Looking forward to my next workout! Highly recommend!”
“If you are having any hesitations about joining I would certainly come in and give it a try. The owner, Brian, is incredibly knowledgeable and does an amazing job teaching both Brazilian jiu-jitsu and mma style striking. Additionally, Brian is regularly bringing in guests from other schools to teach and many people travel to AMA to train on weekends which means that there is a wide variety of people to train and learn from. People in the gym are friendly and willing to put the work in to help you get better if you are willing to show up. I think the biggest testament to the quality of AMA is that people keep coming back. I have trained at several gyms that had incredibly high turn over and it was rare to see anyone train for more than a year or two. In contrast, there are plenty of guys at Advanced who have been training for multiple years and came in white belts and are now seasoned brown belts. If you are looking for a good work out and a solid group of people to train with, you should come to Advanced.”
“Great MMA gym with great people. I have been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu for ~5 years, 3 years at this school. The instructors are highly skilled and really care about the development of their students. The people are friendly and always willing to help you get better. The gym also has strength training equipment to take your game to the next level. Membership costs are fair and very reasonable.”
“I dropped in during a visit to the area, and am glad I did. The staff welcomed me with open arms; the students were serious, respectful, and well trained; the facilities were safe and spacious. Everyone was friendly, and I got exactly the rolls I needed despite being an out-of-towner. Open mat was well run, with partners for everyone at six-minute intervals and no shortage of takers, without the place being overcrowded. Highly recommended.”
