Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“We were visiting San Diego for vacation and we were looking for a gym for our boys to roll at and we decided to drop in. Coach Jason is welcoming and is very knowledgeable. The gym gives off good vibes and is a definite spot to sign up or drop in! Thank you again for having us 🤙🏻”
“The first day we tried Aftermath we were very impressed. The owner and head instructor Jason is the real deal. I have never seen an instructor pay so much attention to detail. The way technique is taught is precise. Also all the kids are really respectful and nice to each other. No bully mentality that I have seen at other gyms. Coach Jason takes his time with each student to make sure they are learning the technique correctly. The kids and adults all work hard. Also if you’re looking for a jujitsu gym that doesn’t play games during kid class (like most gyms) this is the place for you. My boys used to train at another gym then we started cross training with another gym. Then we were looking for a different gym to cross train with. We found Aftermath. Now we exclusively train with Aftermath.”
“Cozy and friendly location with great staff. My 9 year old was hesitant and nervous (in tears) after an experience at another San Diego jiu jitsu location and the Aftermath professors put her at ease and invited her onto the mat. She enjoyed the training and stayed for a second class after the first and received great personal feedback from professor Jason and learned a new take down. The kids were all courteous and respectful to my child and their coaches. We were just dropping in and were welcomed back anytime.”
“Got to visit and take a class at Aftermath and had a great experience. Jason Cook, the head instructor, is a fantastic teacher and very knowledgeable of modern and effective Jiu Jitsu. I know he's an active competitor as well, so he knows what really works and what doesn't. I appreciated his detailed and personalized feedback during both drills and sparring. The other students there were all friendly, controlled, and very skilled. I felt safe sparring with the other students and got some good hard training in. Will make it back to the class when I can! Great gym, great instructor.”
“As a long time martial arts practitioner, @aftermath_bjj is one of the best schools for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Jason Cook and Rene Raagas share their knowledge intelligently with no ego or bias. It was a very positive environment specially for females and all levels. I’m thankful for this academy. I finally found my home on San Diego! There are a lot of choices in San Diego for training that it can be overwhelming. Try a class at Aftermath - your search will be over!”
