Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“We have been with BDMA for over 3 years and I can not say enough nice things about them. Master Tony and the other instructors are amazing with the kids at every level of training both in Taekwondo and Jujitsu. The instructors are firm, but patient and make sure that each student feels successful during every class. Great place for kids and adults to take classes at any level.”
“My daughter absolutely LOVED every day she trained at Blue Dragons! She is just four years old and was only able to train for a few months before we moved, but she still talks about martial arts almost daily and has insisted we find a place to continue training near our new house! Thank you, Blue Dragons, for being an excellent introduction to martial arts for my daughter!”
“My daughter who is 6 has been with Blue dragons for over 1 year now and my son who is 15 has been with them for 9 months. They both enjoy attending their classes on a daily basis and try not to miss classes. The instructors are wonderful. They know how to interact with all different age groups. We love coming here. The facility's are always clean and instructors are friendly. I recommend Blue Dragons to all my friends and people I may have conversations with about martial arts.”
“My kids love this place and have really thrived since starting in mid-February. We have tried a few other martial arts places, but it wasn't until we finally gave Blue Dragon a try did they really take to it. Before we signed up here and I told my boys I was going to sign them up for martial arts again and they said they only wanted to go once or twice a week. After starting, there is hardly a week that goes by that we're not there at least four times a week. All the instructors are great and we appreciate the values instilled along with the training and fun the kids get to experience. Definitely recommend.”
“Blue Dragon is amazing thanks to Sensei Daniel. My kids aren't, as they say... Focused at the best of times, let alone after a long day at school. We signed up after talking to the owner about our concerns. We got uniforms and Gloves for taekwondo (jiu jitsu uniforms are separate, but not needed to start) and started showing up. The first couple classes were pretty rough, but every day they are reminded to show respect and they are slowly getting it. That's not to say they don't have rough days and have to do a lot of pushups and occasionally have to take some time outs, but thanks to Sensei Daniel's patience and consistency, I'm seeing steady improvements. It's a flat rate for however many taekwondo and jiujitsu classes you want to take a week. We end up going to 3-4 classes a week. The kids are having a great time, becoming more confident in their skills and learning a great deal. I love the focus Blue Dragon has on respect and am looking forward to seeing where this experience takes us. Edit: Feb 2023 My both kids earned their yellow belts in Taekwondo. They both were doing great behavior wise and making good progress. My daughter decided to take up dance instead and my son decided to focus on jiu jitsu. The uniform isn't cheap but no change to monthly fees so it's nice they can take whatever classes they like. Jiu jitsu requires another level of control that my son hasn't had previously. He continues to grow under the guidance of the coaches and I couldn't be happier with his progress. Mistakes and temper flares are handled in stride with clear training and strong discipline. They teach their students to win(and lose) respectfully and with sportsmanship. I'm particularly impressed with the focus on teaching hurt vs. injury. Jiu jitsu is a contact sport and bumps and bruises happen. I have watched my kid go from being a puddle when bumped to rolling out of what looked like a pretty bad fall and getting position before his opponent recovers. There is an emphasis on safety, both in terms of when you have the upper hand or not. Don't hurt your opponent, and tap out before you let someone hurt you. Most importantly, my son leaves class every time happy, excited to go back and a little bit better than he was when he went into class. 6 June 2024: Update on our last day. Moving out of state.. My son has continued to grow and learn under the coaches here. He's learned a lot of control and toughness and maybe most importantly, grit. Just because your opponent gets position on you you don't give up until you have to tap. I've seen this mentality build and carry into other aspects of his life, just because something is hard doesn't mean he can't do it. He is eager to go to class, has fun rolling and was even invited to the competition prep team and participated in a couple tournaments, getting past quite a bit of nerves and doing pretty well. Leaving on a high note, One of the biggest things we'll miss in our new home. Can't recommend this place and the Coaches any stronger. They care about the kids, obviously enjoy the sport and are amazing at teaching their skills to students of all skill levels, from little little to top-tier competitors. If you're kid is interested... Please do yourself a favor and stop by.”
