“I dropped in for the nogi class and the coach Justin along with the students made me feel very welcome. The class consisted of games using techniques with some live resistance which made the class very fun. The rolls afterwards were very competitive and high level, looking forward to visiting again when I'm in Kansas City.”

“I was in Kansas City for a few days and decided to drop in at Alive Jiu-Jitsu, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I stepped in, Coach Justin made me feel right at home. Justin took the time to introduce himself, explain the class structure, and even gave me personal pointers during training. His knowledge and teaching style are top-notch, and you can tell he genuinely cares about the students’ growth. The gym itself has a great atmosphere—clean, well-equipped, and full of positive energy. Everyone in class was super friendly and made me feel like part of the team, even for just a short visit.”

“Alive has proven to be an excellent choice for me and my kids to learn and practice Jiu Jitsu. Justin is a brilliant coach, he has a ton of knowledge and demos in a way that really helps to lock things into my brain, which is especially helpful as a beginner. He's built a great community, where I'm always excited to go train and have not had a bad experience. The coaches for the kids program are patient and willing to explain and demo the drills in a way even the littlest can start picking them up.”

“Excellent gym. I stopped in while visiting Kansas City and the instructor Justin welcomed me with open arms. The technique was great and in my opinion his teaching style with the live drilling is the best way to learn. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.”
