“I'm a lifelong martial artist, I've been training at Barrick's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for around seven years. It's Carlson Gracie lineage, which means it's the good stuff. The gym facility is very nice and well maintained. In my experience the senior black belt/gym owner Bryan Barrick is extremely hospitable, highly skilled, with a very deep understanding that only comes from many years of practice. The kids program is excellent. One of the things that I think is extremely beneficial about the kids program is that Professor Barrick has selected a team of coaches to give his students a high amount of one-on-one attention to better assist with their BJJ development, and from what I can see it's worked out extremely well. Professor Barrick has also created a teen centric program to better suit the needs of older kids, and it has also worked incredibly well. I also highly recommend the adult class. Barrick's Brazilian jiu jitsu also offers boxing programs for kids and adults, and let me tell you, I've seen both kids and adults go from not being able to punch their way out of a wet paper sack, to throwing phenomenal power in a fairly short amount of time too. The adult boxing instructor Bud Wilson is one of the most formidable guys I know, and if you want some hands, he'll help you get them for sure. I consider it an honor to be a student of this gym. The things that I've learned during my time training with these amazing people and the relationships that I've made are absolutely priceless.
