“I traveled to the area last week and noticed a checkmatt BJJ right nearby our AirBnb in Murrieta. I popped in and they told me about open mat the next day at the Temecula location. I had an amazing experience dropping in for open mat. Helio (the owner) was super welcoming from the get-go and got me into a loaner gi (I didn't bring mine b/c I didn't think I'd be lucky enough to train on the family vacation!). Everyone was wicked respectful and rolled hard. It was just like being back home in MA (minus the 100 degree day.) I can't wait to visit again the next time I am in Cali, and for anyone looking to check out a high quality academy I would defintely recommend the squad at checkmat. Oss!”
