“Amazing place to train and learn bjj and self defense. I have met so many awesome people over the years and they treat you like family. As a matter of fact they have become my 2nd family. Professor Borras is like a 2nd father or uncle to many here and I can’t wait till one day when he gets to put that black belt around my waist. 🤙🏼”
“This place has been my like my home for the past almost 3 years I was very intimidated to start and step outside of my comfort zone but this academy and these people treated me like family the second I came in the atmosphere was friendly felt like family and professor Borras went out of his way to help me multiple times whether it was learning something new giving me advice on things that I could improve on but it wasn’t just the fact that he helped me in jiujitsu but he also helped me grow and helped me become a better person I can’t recommend this place enough training here was the best decision I ever made I’ve made so many lifelong friends through this place and learned a skill thats life-saving if you’re thinking about it just come give us a try I promise you won’t be disappointed OSS”
“My granddaughter started taking jiu-jitsu several years ago and it has been one of the best things she ever decided to do! She love it so much and she loves her peers that she trains with. The academy is clean and the Professor and his family are such wonderful people! They genuinely care for their students and they do a lot for the community. Thank you, Borras Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Professor Borras for training our little granddaughter to be a warrior!”
“I really can't say enough positive things about Borras Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! My daughter, Haley Tatum, enrolled in classes approximately 3-and-a-half years ago. She was a very shy, timid, little wallflower. Under the tutelage of Professor Jorge Borras and his trained blackbelts, she has blossomed into a very strong, confident young woman. She is capable of defending herself if anyone should threaten or attempt to harm her. With the world becoming more and more dangerous, with abductions and human trafficking becoming more prevalent in even smaller towns, it is imperative that young ladies and gentlemen learn to protect themselves. Not only does Professor Borras equip his students to defend themselves, but he also instills confidence and discipline. Also, Borras Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is so much more than just an academy for learning martial arts, as the members are a tight knit group who love one another like family! The bonds forged inside of the academy run deep and I've never seen a new member be excluded from these familial bonds. Training together is exciting and everyone is eager to learn, but everyone also has so much fun training together! It really makes the experience unforgettable! If you think you are too old for jiu-jitsu, trust me, there are people in their 60's training under Professor Borras. Too young? The kids class is outstanding, with those same familial bonds forming between kids as young as 4 to 5 years old! Think you're too out of shape? People of all body types are accepted into the academy and the members rally around each person to encourage their training and make each person knows they have a special place in class and in their hearts! Everybody is welcome! Scared you may get hurt training? While the occasional bump, sprain, etc. will undoubtedly happen, students are taught control. The goal is to learn to defend yourself, not to attempt to injure your partner. My daughter once has her nose bumped by her training partner's elbow. I actually saw him cry because he felt so bad that it happened. It's those bonds I was talking about. :) Would I recommend Borras Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Absolutely, with no hesitation! The best decision I ever made was signing my daughter up and she says she would never train under another Professor!!”
