Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“Has been a great few years training here. Great instructors, members and owner. Instructors are not just extremely knowledgeable but patient and truly care about teaching. Most everyone I have rolled with has been respectful, and I have actually made a few good friends over the years going here. The owner, JC, is extremely well respected. He is a natural leader and actually gets to know everyone who comes to the gym! When I moved out of town they let me buy single passes so I could come back as I pleased. Great gym, awesome crew.”
“Super awesome gym. Went here for a seminar and everyone was great. John, Sean, , Dima and the rest of his black belts were down to earth and welcoming. I will definitely come back for another seminar or to cross train if I’m in the area. Fantastic group of people!”
“I had some trepidation as an older beginner in BJJ but coaches and members at Broadway have been very welcoming and supportive. The coaches run well structured classes and also go out of their way to give individual feedback and answer questions. Definitely not a place for wimpy mentalities or whiny attitudes, but if you're looking to challenge yourself it's very rewarding right off the bat.”
“Started training here in 2020 during height of COVID when no one else in town was open. Couldn't have found a better place to start learning jiu-jitsu starting as a beginner. Great instructors, community, and culture.”
“Tough rolls, skilled grapplers, and still super beginner-friendly—Broadway Jiu Jitsu hits the perfect balance. I've been training here for about 6 months (3 consistently due to travel), and even as a smaller guy (~130 lbs), I’m starting to understand how to survive and move intelligently against much heavier training partners. The white belt classes in the afternoon are excellent, but when I can’t make them, I drop into the 7 AM or noon sessions—often rolling with higher belts. I’ve never once felt out of place. Everyone here, regardless of rank, has been welcoming, respectful, and genuinely helpful. You’ll get challenged. You’ll tap. A lot. But never in a way that feels unsafe or discouraging. One thing I really appreciate about this gym is how diverse it is—different sizes, skill levels, languages, and backgrounds. It creates a great environment for learning. The female grapplers here? Absolute assassins. Watching them dominate with clean technique over bigger, stronger training partners is eye-opening. Every instructor brings their own style to class, and I’ve taken away something valuable from each one. JC, the owner, is not only a beast on the mats—he’s an excellent coach and a genuinely cool guy. The coaches are always walking around, paying attention, and constantly helping students fix mistakes in real time. You can tell they truly care about everyone’s progress, regardless of rank/level or time at the gym. If you live in the area and are looking for a place to learn real jiu-jitsu—whether for self-defense, to get in shape, or just to have fun and connect with great people—this is the place. Just remember to tuck your shin”
