Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“Class structured as follows: light warm up, instruction and practice of a weekly position/techinque, live training/rolling. Very friendly training with partners helping each other learn and not concerned with who tapped who. Smaller mat space but there is open mat after each class for those who still want to spar/train. Highly recommend. - New location off Torrance Blvd and Satori. Mat space has increased 4x.”
“I started going to this academy and I have been having a great experience. I highly recommend this place. Everyone regardless of their status (color of their belt) is very helpful and enthusiastically offers their insight, help and willing to “roll” with you. The professor (Andre) is a fantastic instructor. Very methodical, thorough, and professional. He is also very patient - a necessary trait for inexperienced folks like me!”
“First and foremost, outstanding customer service. Returned my call within 24 hours and were able to answer all my questions regarding dropping in from out of town. Second, great instruction. I brought in my cousin who had never trained before but wanted to get involved with BJ because she joined the army and i told her it would give her a huge advantage over everyone she was working with. Having never done BJJ but starting off with a bicep slicer had me a bit concerned but it was taught and made so simple she was crushing it. She understood the moves based on his description and some minor tweaks by me. I ended up going back to LA and hitting that move in life training a few days later because it was such an easy set up that they taught. Last but not least... live rolling. It's always awkward going into someone else's gym and rolling with everyone, for me at least. I don't want to ask people to roll, but I most assuredly want to roll! So I asked the instructor who I could go with and be paired me up with a few guys and they were great. Respectful, skilled, and good fights. My cousin was paired up with a girl who's ranked #1 in MMA in Kentucky so I was stoked for her too! All around great facility and if I'm ever in the Cincinnati area again I'm for sure stopping by.”
“I tried two other academies in the South Bay and Carlson has a great feeling with a lot of other friendly students willing to help. Professor Andre is the man. Very friendly, patient, and helpful with the beginners and experienced alike. Great vibes.”
“Andre is a great teacher. Great atmosphere and awesome people to train with.”
