“I've been going to Checkmat for 2 and a half years and it has boosted my self esteem and confidence more than anything else has. I've done other martial arts and nothing has compared to the self defense skills of BJJ. I went only to private classes for the longest time with Helio and Larissa, both extremely patient, humble, and caring. Now I do the women's classes and my husband is trying Muay Thai classes there too. It's making me sweat and work certain muscles to fatigue, and I love it! If you ever want to compete, there's so much potential you can achieve with these guys. I HIGHLY recommend having your kids put into their classes to help develop their motor skills and be able to defend themselves growing up. Also, my dogs have become their unofficial mascots, so if you ever come when I'm there, you might get to see a furry friend. 🐕”
