Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“I started at CUBJJ with zero experience. The coaches are incredibly encouraging and do a fantastic job of sharing knowledge while fostering a safe and uplifting environment for their entire team and coaches. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to improve their technique, compete with motivated and positive individuals, and make some awesome friends along the way.”
“First place, and it's not even close. After graduating from UIUC I started coming to CU Jiu Jitsu 3-4 times a week for the past 6 months and I literally could not be happier. Mats are squeaky clean, the amenities are better than any gym I've ever been to, and most importantly the people are fantastic. Everyone is super friendly and happy to help and learn. Coach Mike provides top notch instruction suitable for beginners and colored belts alike. Plenty of classes at convenient times, and competition training for those that want that kind of thing. Truly, I don't think I could say a bad thing about the place. I highly recommend it!”
“Really wonderful and inclusive environment. I was a complete beginner and the women's classes especially helped me feel welcome and comfortable in the space. It really feels like everyone here wants to help you get better! The community events are also super fun :) Nice people, clean gym, supportive, good mix of intensity levels, and an overall great place to train. Thank you!”
“I started going to six months ago because I heard BJJ is a good type of self defence for female bodies and good way to work out. I stayed because it is a friendly and inclusive environment which challenges me to do better and doesn’t make me feel dumb for being a beginner. Couch Mike instructs everyone in way that works for advanced people and beginners. The people that come are great too. *** there is a free woman BJJ class on Sunday if you don’t feel comfortable in a coed space. I think it is awesome for beginners but still recommend giving the mixed classes a shot because the guys and gals are great at CU Jiu Jitsu. I knew I was in the right place when my gym had dog.”
“Was visiting the area and dropped in for a class. Such a welcoming and awesome gym. The rolls were top notch also! If you’re thinking about giving them a try, do it!”
