“I have gone to this school between April-December 2023 before leaving for school but I do plan on returning soon. This is easily one of the most fun and exciting experiences I have had. The instructors are very professional, kind, and welcoming to every one of all backgrounds. Not only have I gained new skills I have also became great friends with other incredible women during my time here. I strongly recommend going to De La Riva. Professors Joe, Mike, Ricky and Coach Phim and Kyle do a phenomenal job at explaining and working with beginners, especially children. Not only that, the school hosts events and will attend competitions which really harbors a sense of community and family. Classes are really affordable, and they also use an app that makes it easy to check class schedules and make payments, they also have a facebook page to post announcements which makes it really easy to keep in touch. De La Riva is especially great for families because they really strive to keep the mats clean and keep the environment as family-oriented and as safe as possible. They offer weekly classes in addition to personal lessons. I can’t recommend DLR enough, easily the best martial art school in the area!”

“On July 10, this past Sunday, I had the privilege of witnessing a belt promotion ceremony at De La Riva BJJ academy. I have to say it was inspirational on so many fronts. The first thing that stood out was the sense of family and camaraderie. I’ve seen other academies have a strong sense of family but not at this level. This academy takes it to an entirely new height. The family atmosphere observed was refreshing. All students and coaches help one another in a very caring and sincere way. Self improvement and the advancement of Individual Jiu Jitsu skills are the focus while perpetuating a family environment. The second thing that definitely stood out was each students knowledge of the fundamental Jiu Jitsu skills they were asked to perform. All students, even the kids performed basic and advanced skills for the test efficiently. It was impressive to say the least. I have to say no matter what level whether beginner or advanced this school is head and shoulders above others. I highly recommend taking classes here.”
