Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“I reached out to East Austin Jiujitsu Parlor ahead of time to ask about dropping in for a couple of days while I was in town. Bill responded promptly and let me know I was welcome to stop by, and they’d set me up with a free membership for those days once I arrived. On my first day, I got there a few minutes early to check in and check out the facility. Bill greeted me and confirmed that everything was good to go since I had already created my profile earlier in the day (which you can also do once you arrive, but I found the link on their site beforehand). The space was awesome—cool merch, clean bathrooms and showers, separate dressing rooms (a nice plus), and even a sauna. The first class was taught by Vince and was really informative. He made sure to come around a few times, helping me through some of the techniques and trouble spots I was working on. The second class I attended was taught by Bill, and I really liked his approach—breaking down the overall technique into smaller steps to build a sense of movement and flow before tackling the full sequence. Overall, I had a great experience. The people I met and rolled with were friendly, welcoming, and patient with a newbie like me. They answered my questions and made the whole experience enjoyable. Definitely recommend checking this place out!”
“10 out of 10 would recommend. This place has it all, nothing that I could mention that hasn’t already been stated here. I don’t know the last time you grappled at a gym with showers, but I know I did today. Before that it was like 10 years ago. Showers are clutch. I’m telling you. They’ve got an all star line up of coaches here. If you’ve never done Jiu Jitsu they have classes for you. If you’ve competed at some big name competition named after some foreign country or put on by some crazy Australian so have the coaches here. If you want an all inclusive safe place to train modern techniques with attention to detail come level up. The head Strength and Conditioning coach has a Doctorates in Physical Therapy and can get you tuned up! There’s no reason not to be here. Seriously.”
“Absolutely love training here. The vibes are unmatched—positive, focused, and welcoming. The strength and conditioning programming is next-level—cerebral and effective, not just a sweat fest. Classes are super well-instructed with a great mix of belt levels, and you’re regularly rolling with competition-tested guys from top gyms. Facilities are clean and modern with all the extras: sauna, on-tap bevs, and everything you need to recover and refuel. Easily one of the best spots in Austin to train.”
“Dropped in with my friend Sophia who is visiting from Brazil and had an incredible experience. Not only was everyone super nice but the training was tough. The facility has an insane gym along with a sauna and showers. Will def stop by again when in Austin!”
“EAJJP has been a fantastic experience. I've been doing BJJ since 2007 (yikes, time flies) and can confidently say that EAJJP is one of the best gyms I've experienced. Instruction - Top notch and arguably one of the best in the country. High-class instruction with great details (but not overly complicated/verbose). It's also not uncommon to walk into class and have a world-renowned, active competitor teaching class. Culture - Very welcoming. As soon as you step onto the mats you're a part of the gym (even if you're visiting for the day). The gym shares a common passion for BJJ and learning together. Facilities - The facilities are awesome. Not only is there great mat space, lifting equipment, showers, sauna, etc. but it comes with style; retro-classics are everywhere (from video games to cars) and it gives EAJJP a great vibe. *Also a clear winner for best neon-sign in ATX. Location - I've been in ATX for 10+ years and EAJJP is in a great, growing location. Easy to get to with plenty of parking. Great food options, bars, etc. right next door. It's not uncommon for the gym to meet up at these neighboring businesses during event nights. If you're in Austin, or visiting, you should definitely stop by. EAJJP hits different in all the right ways.”
