Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“Elite jiu jitsu opened their doors for me on a recent visit for work to the salt lake city area. In my quest to grapple in all fifty states I drove up on a Monday night and joined a family class. After warm-ups we're done Mark took over and introduced me as a guest and across 22 states and 3 countries this was the first time I got a round of applause for visiting. Next up there was a promotion so it was great to be a part of a special night all around! Mark and his students ran through several progressions on moves paying great attention to details. Mark kept an eye on everyone and offered guidance and encouragement as we drilled. During the open gym portion Mark even rolled and it means a lot to see the owner rolling, too! There was plenty of seating for spectators and lots of mat space for training. Great group with a huge age range and skills. Thank you so much for the hospitality, Pocatello has a great place to train with Elite!”
“Mark is a great coach! He has been coaching my husband for the past ten years and has been able to reach personal goals thanks to Mark's consistent and knowledgeable efforts. His gym is a great environment too and very welcoming. The people training in the gym have always seemed friendly and polite, helping each other with personal goals in Jiu-jitsu. It's a great place to train!”
“I stopped by as a drop in for the no gi class while I was in town for work. Coach Ramos and the team were very welcoming and Professor Massey was very responsive to my inquiry about dropping in. Excellent atmosphere and good instruction. If you live in Pocatello or are just passing through I recommend Elite Jiu Jitsu Academy!”
“A great place to learn jiu-jitsu. The coach teaches conceptually, delivers great material, and trains his students well. Mark Massey is a very skilled martial artist, and has a lot of knowledge to pull from. The people are great, and there are a decent amount of opportunities to train throughout the week... from 5 classes a week to 7 classes a week, depending on factors such as available coaches, amount of students, etc.”
“Head instructor Mark Massey is a top notch teacher. He expects the best from his students, and gives them the same. He teaches the technique and the character skills that should always accompany martial arts training. His students and team are a reflection of a philosophy he has been teaching for more than 25 years. Go try it out - you will understand what I mean.”
