“ENDVR BJJ is a nogi only bjj program ran by Coach Andrew Baek. It is very warm and welcoming jiu jitsu school. The students are very respectful to each other and guests. They make sure to acknowledge everyone who comes through the door, which can be a huge relief when you’re doing drop ins or trial classes because you instantly feel like you belong there. ENDVR is more of a hobbyist gym, rather than some gyms that are heavily competition focused. This doesn’t mean that the students don’t roll hard, but there’s less emphasis on podium placing. Coach Andrew is also very humble and understanding, he doesn’t foster a harsh culture that some schools have. He’s very understanding accommodating to the fact that we all have different lives, understanding when people arrive late or need to leave early. Moreover, he offers classes 7 days a week, evenings in during the week, and morning classes on the weekends. Coach Andrew is a former 10th Planet student and now a student under Professor Manny of SLZBJJ, having received his purple and brown belt from him. Coach Andrew is an excellent teacher of BJJ, he has great attention to detail, offering explanations on why particular body positioning is important in terms of strategy. While Coach Andrew is not yet a black belt, it doesn’t mean that he’s lacking experience or not a good teacher. On the contrary, I have trained under several different professors and he is definitely one of the best. Moreover, having trained with him as a peer, I can testify that most of his peers speak highly of his skill as a practitioner of BJJ. Coach Andrew is patient, and passionate about the sport. He's helped me prepare for and cornered me at tournaments and been there to pick me up after hard losses. ENDVR shares mats with San Lorenzo BJJ. So I will say the same thing about the facility here as I have in a review of SLZBJJ. There is ample mat space to train. The mats are kept very clean. The facility has two changing rooms and two bathrooms. Unfortunately the space does not feature showers. However, there are a few amenities such as a squat rack and bench, a stationary bicycle. These amenities are included with the cost of your membership. Parking can be tricky during afternoon and evening hours because the facility shares a parking lot with several nearby businesses including a supermarket. However, there is plenty of street parking nearby.”
“Great new place to train no gi jiujitsu! Coach Andrew ran a fun and challenging class. Warm up was well thought out and incorporated key elements of the focus moves. Much of the class was starting standup hand wrestling and takedowns. This was followed by rolling, might have been 5 min rounds. Its a large space and impressively clean. Theres also plenty of parking. Big diverse group of people and sizes which makes for fun rolls. Although it was a big group, I felt I received individual feedback and guidance. Very welcoming!”
“This is the perfect place to start jiu jitsu. Coach Andrew demonstrates and explains techniques extremely well. Him and his members have created a super welcoming culture for anyone who wants to train in an encouraging environment.”
“Training at Endvr Jiu Jitsu with Coach Andrew Baek has been an incredible experience! I have been training here since the gym opened. The environment is so friendly and welcoming. It truly feels like a family from the moment you step in. Andrew takes his time to teach and guide every student, no matter their skill level, which shows how much he cares about helping everyone improve. The facility is always clean and well-maintained, making it an ideal place to train. If you’ve ever thought about trying jiu-jitsu, I highly recommend giving it a shot at Endvr Jiu Jitsu. Everyone should train BJJ at least once in their life, and this is the place to do it!”
