Now I haven't read the bad reviews on this place but I can tell you right now without even seeing them that whoever wrote those is being harsh or unfair with their opinions. Since the very moment we stepped into Master Johnny's dojo we've been treated with nothing but kindness and respect. Not once did he try to push his membership on us after the free class, we were simply told how his program works and how much the cost is and left the rest to us, no pressure at all. Now for the prices, they are great for what you're getting although they differ by packages, you are learning a valuable skill/s that is worth more than the charge. Sports can cost more or just as much and unless you plan on going professional the skills you learn in sports don't compare to what you learn here because the skills learned here can actually transfer out into the real world if the need is ever to come up. Sure, you can argue that sports teaches sportsmanship, teamwork and how to socialize but that's where it stops. Here at the dojo you are taught this as well with the bonus of every other skill learned being able to be applied outside of class and not to mention the discipline, respect and appreciation for other people and their cultures learned there. Now for the classes, every class is something new and/or productive, the coaches go over every move in detail to make sure you got it then have you practice. During this time they'll walk around checking on everyone to make sure they're doing the move correctly. Every single coach is kind and caring but strict when need be, no one ever feels left out and everyone is treated fair. They even have fun little games at the end of kids class and they all love it. Even treats are given occasionally! I can tell that everyone there truly enjoys what they do and do a great job teaching these amazing skills. I can keep going on about this place but just see for yourself if you're interested, you won't regret it.”
“Initially brought my 6 year old in to train because he was having some bullying issues at school, but I do regret coming in here. We have paid 1,300 in 2 months for 2 kids to train part time. (Son trained 3 weeks, Daughter trained a month a half) At signing no paperwork was given to my husband at all. (It's supposed to be month to month, do NOT let him charge your card on auto pay, you will be taken advantage of and charged of fees that he adds on without your consent) Not happy at all with the lack of communication on Johnny the business owners part. I understand everyone is having hard times, but as a business owner the level of professionalism just isn't there. Also felt disrespected when my son got hurt and received no compassion from the business owner, instead he lectured my husband on raising quitters, as my son sat there fully dressed waiting to train. I would not recommend this establishment based on the lack of professionalism and the respect factor. In Martial Arts, respect is top priority and should be demonstrated at all times. One positive thing though, the other coaches are very good with the kids, thank you Franky and Tracy for all your assistance with my children.”
“This is an excellent martial art class it's an everyday Class. 2 days a week there are 2 hours classes that my daughter goes too. The price is great for what you're getting compared to other martial arts studios where your child only works out one maybe two days a week that's not enough time to learn a technique on defending yourself that kids need to have these days especially girls. My daughter has been going here for about 4 months and my husbend and I are very satisfied with the teachers and the classes. I would recommend them to everyone you won't be disappointed.”
“My son has been attending this martial arts school for a year and I am so grateful for that. He has gained so much confidence and purpose for himself. The coaches really truly care about each student. The San Soo classes are high energy and teach your kids crucial self defense skills. The jiu jitsu classes help the kids become well rounded in their art and they also go to tournaments as team. It's so great and unique that the kids and adults can train in AT LEAST TWO STYLES (they offer sparring and weapons traning too) while only paying for one. Highly recomend becoming part of the Foo Dog Family!”
“Our girls have been training with Coach Johnny for about 5 years now and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The current instructors are knowledgeable, skilled, and committed to helping students improve. They provide personalized attention and feedback, which has helped my girls improve their technique and understanding of martial arts. The dojo has the discipline and rigor of the training that has helped the girls to develop greater mental focus and self-discipline. I appreciate the variety of training exercises and techniques that the coach has taught, which keeps the practice fresh and challenging. Overall, I highly recommend Foo Dogs Martial Arts Academy for anyone looking to improve their martial arts skills and be part of a supportive community of masters!!”
