“When I first heard that Paul was moving to LA to open Frogtown jiu-jitsu I knew it would be my new home... Frogtown jiu-jitsu is hands down the most beautiful academy I have ever trained at. It is also the cleanest academy I have ever been in which is very important to me as I admittingly have an OCD issue regarding cleanliness. ;) The mats and facilities are always clean. The mat space is open and bright due to all the glass windows and feels Zen-like with the plants and natural wood colors used throughout the academy. For those of you who may be new to jiu-jitsu and may not have heard of Paul Schreiner, he is known to be considered one of the best instructors in the world. You can easily Google his name and read about how well respected of an instructor he is. I had always heard about how good of an instructor he was and now I see why...I literally learn something new from him and/or new details in every class I have been in. Having him in LA now and teaching here is pretty special. Paul is also a great guy and you can tell all of his students really connect with him. He gives everyone the same attention in class regardless of what level you are at. The students here include men and women of varying ages. The academy is very welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is safe and fun yet challenging at all belt levels. There are also multiple change rooms, a shower which is a huge plus in the event you need to go straight to work/home/school after training and easy and always available street parking out front for free. “I’ve trained at Frogtown Jiu-Jitsu a couple of times now while visiting LA, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots to drop in.
