“I started my BJJ journey at 44 years old and I'm so happy I met Professor Henrique and the Gama Filho family. Before joining Gama Filho, I trained at another self-defense Jiu-Jitsu school for 10 months. And to be honest, I feel like my Jiu-Jitsu improved 200% in a matter of months after joining this academy. Professor Henrique comes from a long line of martial arts. His BJJ style is extremely efficient and his teaching style helps students at any level. They offer both Gi and No-Gi classes with classes both in the morning and at night. I have a very busy life with kids, work, etc so I take the 10AM classes during the week. We have a great group of people that supports each other both in BJJ as well as other aspects of life. I also have both of my kids (7-year old girl and 8-year old boy) training in the kids' program. It's amazing to see them improving their skills both on the mat. More importantly though, is that Jiu-Jitsu teaches them self-defense, confidence and respect. Coach Max and Coach Richard are VERY patient with the kids and maintain a fun yet competitive atmosphere for the little ones. The FREE private parking lot also makes it very convenient for everyone - something hard to find in Miami!”
