“I started going to Gilroy BJJ in 2018 and got a solid two years in before covid hit. Thanks covid. I was fortunate enough to start back up again after restrictions lightened up in early 2022 and had the opportunity to return, this time with my young kids. I absolutely had the bug and wanted to keep learning and improving. Besides that, it gives me the opportunity to do something additional with my kiddos. Gilroy BJJ has a great group of people from all walks of life. The people are nice, and the instructors are top-notch. I really have nothing else to compare to, but if it ain't broke... don't fix it, right? The classes are fun and tough at the same time. BJJ is super humbling. I thought I was in great shape and strong enough to handle myself until my instructor, smaller than me, tossed me around like a rag doll. I'm not going to lie... it had and still has me fascinated. Some of those moves looked like and still look like magic. How did he do that? If you're looking for a challenge, something different, something to get in great shape, and something to do and just meet some good people, come on in. Even if you just want to get an idea of what BJJ is like, come try some free intro classes. Who doesn't like free? I'm hooked and will continue to come to Gilroy BJJ until my body just won't let me do it any longer. I'm one of the older guys, so if I can do it, so can you. Rollers of all sizes, shapes, and ages. “My daughter has been coming to the gym shortly after we moved here from out of state in 2022. It really has helped her with her confidence and her sense of self.. She really has come out of her shell and blossomed. She’s learned a lot from the coaches, not just self defense but discipline, accountability, and mentoring newer kids, and has fun while doing it all.
