“I started training at Gonzalez Grappling last summer, and it’s been an amazing experience. I came in with no exposure to grappling of any kind, and the coaches were able to really break everything down and provide me with a great foundation for the sport. Every class they’re extremely helpful and attentive, ensuring every student in the gym is able to pull off the technique they’re teaching with no problems. They always ask if anyone has any questions before moving on to the next topic. What really sold me about this gym was when coach Jay went on vacation for a week; when this happened at other non-grappling gyms I’ve been to, we would just take a week off and expect nothing to happen. However, all the students got together to organize classes/practices the entire week he was gone. Also, when he got back, he gave everyone 1 on 1 sessions to specifically build their own style and address whatever questions/difficulties they might have. To me, this perfectly describes the atmosphere of Gonzalez Grappling. Both the coaches and other students are extremely friendly and helpful, but they’ll still push you and make you work hard to achieve your goals. If you’re on the fence about joining this gym, just head over to one of the classes and try it out! I guarantee you’ll have a great time.”

“As someone who has moved around for school and jobs frequently, I have joined and left many, many gyms. I’ve been here for 2 weeks at time of review. This type of gym is different from most and I’ve only found one other that was like it. The way that Coach cares for people in the gym, and the individual attention I receive, is next level. By far the easiest gym I’ve ever joined. He gages peoples comfort zones or skill sets, and is always watching to make sure that people are getting what they need. I really don’t have enough good things to say about this gym and the guy who runs it. For kids: I’m a licensed therapist who works with children (7-12 years old) and feel completely confident in recommending this gym for my young clients. I stuck around to see one of there sessions and he works extremely well with children who are new to martial arts or wrestling/grappling.”
