I have three boys ranging in different schedules. Professor Ed and Luiza have seen the changes in my kids within two months. I have also seen the changes as they are able to release the energy in BJJ. FBBJJ really really cares about my kids development and is very patient with all the kids. He really sets the foundation for the kids to be successful. The facility is VERY clean and friendly. You will definitely have a great time and it is right next door to HEB. You could drop off your child to get enrichment with FBBJJ and do your groceries. My kids go EVERY DAY. This is the perfect session for after school!

The Professors(Matheus and Cassaõ) are amazing at this Gracie Barra. They have taught me many things both in Jiu Jitsu and in life. Whether it’s discipline, consistency, the way you carry and talk to yourself. I am very grateful for the professors and team with a loving environment that pushes me to grow and never quit! Thank you Professors! Also I’d like to thank the kids that I help coach that teach me something new everyday. Thank you everyone!

Gracie Barra Fort Bend welcomed me with open arms the second I walked through the doors. Traveling from out of town I didn't bring any gear with me to train in. I showed up and instantly Sam assisted me and provided me with a lender gi to use. Professor Cassio does a fantastic job creating a fun, friendly, and safe environment for all students. Being a student from another Gracie Barra gym I feel 100% satisfied they have represented the Gracie Barra name with the utmost respect.

I have been coming five days a week for the last two months. While that may seem like a lot, Monday through Thursdays, are typically learning the fundamentals. The way it is structured, for an hour, is they take a sequence of movements that end with a submission of some sort. Coach Sam is incredible at breaking down the techniques and clearly explaining to you what to do during the movements. He ensures by asking if you need to see it again that you know the movement before practicing on a partner. Typically, coach Sam will align you with someone in the fundamentals class. Fundamentals is pretty straightforward and as long as you are practicing the technique without being overly aggressive, you’ll get a good sweat, but you won’t feel super exhausted. More than likely, though, you’ll come out sweating, buckets, and feeling exhausted lol It’s a great workout and you will build endurance as well as learn some awesome techniques. Starting out in fundamentals is huge because it allows you to learn the basics before you move over to the advanced classes. I was afraid to sign up for 2 1/2 years but decided to after my wife wanted to sign my son up. He’s currently four years old at the time of this review. I went all in alongside my son and it’s been three months and I haven’t looked back. I just earned my second stripe and I’ve been obsessed as it’s a beautiful art in my opinion. There is so much to learn here. The kids classes are superb. My son couldn’t focus for the first couple of weeks and we had some challenges with him wanting to get on the mat after a while, but we pushed through, stayed as consistent as possible, and he absolutely loves it and we put no pressure on him to do jiu-jitsu. Ultimately, we want him to WANT to come on his own and enjoy the sport on his own. So we support him along with many of the other parents on the sidelines, allowing the coaches and the professor to teach our son while we stand back to let them do their thing. My son does this little quirk that we find hilarious when he takes his opponent down. As of late, when Coach Sam calls for a reset, he stands up, flexing his arms, grunting loud saying he’s strong. It’s the cutest thing and he’s the smallest one on the mat. I have seen his focus also change at home where he’s more attentive and focused. It’s an awesome thing to witness. Not every time that we show up is perfect, but we are showing up and letting him train. I will say for anyone looking to train that i is an adult or young adult, I would highly recommend this place. You’re training with champions, I realize and I’ve been to other gyms that have praised the leadership and the depth of knowledge that the coaches and professors hold here. I originally wrote a pretty simple review, but after spending the last 2 months analyzing and paying attention to what really goes on there, I would be remiss if I didn’t rewrite this to give people more depth about my detailed experience. At the moment, I’m going just about every day of the week but training up to seven times per week at this location. I just earned my second stripe and moved over to the advanced classes that happen at the same time as fundamentals if I didn’t mention that already. If you are on the fence based on fear of getting hurt or anything else like I was, I would say go all in and just try it out. While you can’t 100% negate getting injured, you will be protected and taught the right way to do the technique. These guys are serious champions with medals to prove it. If you’ve ever been at this location, I’ve learned that the metals on display that professor has earned is at 10th of what he has in boxes everywhere else. He’ll never mention that because he’s a very humble guy, but I just had to make note the depth of knowledge this black belt who has been training for almost 2 decades has. If you’re reading this and decide to sign up for their trial promo they are currently running, I’ll see you there 👊🏽

I've been training at GB fort bend for a few months now, and it's been an incredible experience. Professor Cassio and Coach Sam are highly skilled and genuinely care about each student's progress. The community is welcoming and supportive, making it a great place to learn and grow. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you'll find the right level of challenge and encouragement here. Highly recommend!
