“This will be my first time ever leaving a review. I feel it is so important to tell other parents how INCREDIBLE Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu has been for our two children. The professor (coach) should win an award for best ever at teaching kids to be patient in lines, to be quite, to listen, and of course jiu Jitsu. He has helped so many children who have had behavioral issues. Every single parent I talk to (and there are a lot) tells the same story at how much this has helped their children. It is so good for kids, both boys and girls, it helps their confidence and will help them if they ever need to defend themselves. Kids from age 3 to adults this is the best place I have ever seen to learn from. I have been to many many martial art gyms in my years of training, but this is the best. Otavio (the professor) and his wife Natalia are two of the nicest people I have ever met. I strongly recommend signing up for the classes!”

“My daughter and I train at his Gracie Barra location, In my opinion this is great place to learn jiu-jitsu. The head instructor (Professor Otavio, Multiple time world champion in BJJ) is an amazing instructor. He is able to explain techniques in a way that children can understand and execute well. Coaches Ron, Craig and Collin also assists in teaching classes, they are very patient and provide great details to students. What I really like about Gracie Barra Huntington Beach aside from the detailed instruction that they teach during class is that the coaches at this location understand how to deal with children since they have kids too and as a parent that is important for me.”

“Gracie Barra Huntington Beach is what one should think of when considering a classic Brazilian Jiujitsu school. The location is easily accessible, the parking is good. When walking in, you have a welcoming atmosphere, with the reception desk right up front onhe left. All around the school you can see the student artwork and the accolades of the main instructor, Otavio Souza, himself a multiple time Brazilian and world champion. The school offered clean changing rooms, clean mat area, plenty of storage for your gym bag. The space coming onto the mat gives enough room to put your shoes/slips for easy access. Professor Otavio is very welcoming and friendly, his students reflect him and are also very open and amicable. The entire school presents a family vibe. I was at Professor Otavio’s school visiting while in a work trip. During my short time there I witnessed him talking through concerns from a parent of a prospective new student, he took his time to listen to the concerns and work a game plan. It really showed the level of care GB Huntington Beach uses to address issues and concerns of the parents. The entire experience left me with a good feeling that GB Huntington Beach is a great place to learn, get great exercise, meet great people, and make yourself a better person.
