“I’ve been training at Gracie Barra La Cañada since I was a white belt, and after 10 years, I earned my black belt here last fall. This place has always felt like home to me—it’s safe, welcoming, and full of people who’ve become like family. As a woman in a mostly male gym, I’ve always felt respected and comfortable here. The environment is super supportive, and the culture really encourages connection, growth, and mutual respect. A lot of my closest friends are people I met on these mats. Professor Alec brings great energy and is clearly passionate about both the gym and his students. The instructors are awesome, and the class schedule has a good mix for all levels. Whether you’re just starting or have been training for years, you’ll always get solid training and fun rolls here. Gracie Barra La Cañada is more than just a place to train—it’s a community, and I’m really grateful to be part of it.”
