The coaches and professors are excellent (my son wants to be just like Coach Batman and Professor Dande “when he grows up” lol). The staff is so friendly and helpful (Maria and Chrystal are angelic). I can’t say enough great things. Our family is SO happy we joined. We will eventually have all 3 of our little ones sign up when the time is right. The price is so fair too! They include unlimited classes for a monthly fee, offer free months when you pay for multiple upfront, and they have regular “extra” events at no additional cost (movie nights, parents night out, open play gym time, self-defense for adults, and more). “Austin that has not been said. It is a great martial arts school dedicated to spreading BJJ in a powerful, positive, and safe manner. All the instructors from Ben, Lewis, Amanda, Clifton, Evaristo, Alexandre, and the rest of the instructors are amazing and well studied/practiced in BJJ techniques. As an over 40 person, it is a fact that when practicing any sport or martial art the possibility of injury increases. However, here at Gracie Barra at South Austin safety comes first. However, it is more than just a school, it is a family, a community that really cares for your personal development through the martial art of BJJ. Furthermore, as a military veteran, I have been looking for a martial art and school where I could find a semblance of the brotherhood and structure offered in the military. “I want to specifically give recognition to Coach Ben, he has gone above and beyond putting in time and effort into not just my journey but my whole families jujitsu journey as well. I have been doing jujitsu for 4 months now. I entered my first competition knowing I wasn’t going to have a coach in my corner, Coach Ben texted me good luck and asked me who my coach was and I told him I didn’t have one. He took it upon himself to surprise me by showing up 30 minutes before my fight to not just support me but be in my corner for the comp. I’m 40 years old starting something new along side my family and Coach Ben has said multiple times to not just myself but to my kids how proud he of all of us. If your wondering whether you can start jujitsu the answer is yes, drop into this gym you are treated like family on day one. All the professors and coach’s are great but I’m grateful Coach Ben is in my corner!”

“The coaches that my son briefly trained with were great, which is why I'm going with 2 stars. Everything else is awful. I'd show up with my 4-year old and would have to figure out where the rental equipment was to get him dressed myself. There was also a different coach every time we showed up. We also cancelled last year and continue to be charged every month, with me having to fight it every time. Horribly run business, go train anywhere else.”
