“Best workout physically and mentally! What I love most about our gym is the family culture… it is truly unmatched. The gym is very clean and well maintained. Professor Alex Morono and all of the instructors are very approachable and teach the most modern and effective practices. Do the free trial and see for yourself, you won’t regret it.”

“This is an excellent school, but it depends on both your rank or if you plan to compete in some form of competition. I will say this, this school excels at bringing in different people from different schools with different styles. Lots of people I have interacted with have judo, wrestling, BJJ and even some have sambo experience. You will find a melting pot of different styles to learn from beyond the BJJ portion. I think that Alex and the rest of the coaches are excellent teachers and they certainly have the expertise and experience to back it up. Alex will give a pretty good history lesson on some of the techniques that are used and I think that is one of the coolest parts to me. He will give the counter to whatever we are learning and even the counter to that counter. He is a very good teacher in that regard. I do believe the gym is getting way too populated and it is hard to form a bond with most of the professors. Unless you are serious about going to the octagon or doing one of the bigger fury events, there is too many people to keep track of and help develop. This is not in the fault of the gym, it's awesome they are doing well business wise. But its hard for me to form a bond with any of the professors due to the large amount of individuals that show up on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. I can't speak for the lunch classes, but it is very crowded whenever Alex is teaching. If you are around purple belt or up, you seem to be getting more attention from the black belts, which in a way makes sense. They have typically earned their stripes and years of experience behind the belt. I understand that. I just do wish that people around the blue and white belt area where treated a little more fairly. I understand lots of people quit when they are learning, but it's difficult because it doesn't feel like we get the development we need. Again, willing to accept the fact that I could be saying that because I am a white belt and don't know any better, but also the gym has lots of people who are competitors and trying to get into the UFC. And that is good for them, but it makes for the people who wanna learn more who are just starting hard to find a coach that will develop us. Professor Jordan is by far my favorite and he usually teaches Monday and Friday. He pushed me really hard when I had a competition in May and helped me secure silver. He always pushed me to be more aggressive and be more technical. He deserves 5 stars for pushing me harder than I ever thought. I have loads of respect for him. In the end, the gym is excellent for competitors and people who want to get into the UFC and for those who are established in the sport, but I suggest starting out somewhere else if you are just beginning”

“The Woodlands MMA is truly an exceptional place for young martial artists. My son, who is in the 4–6 age group for Jiu-Jitsu, has flourished here thanks to the incredible care, attention, and discipline the instructors instill in their students. The quality of the classes is outstanding, with highly skilled teachers—many of whom hold black belts and even have UFC experience. The level of expertise is unparalleled. Beyond the top-tier instruction, the structured reward and promotion system keeps kids engaged and motivated, helping them build both skills and confidence. I’ve seen remarkable growth in my son since he started training here, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the positive impact this academy has had on him.”

“Gracie Barra The Woodlands has changed my life for the better. First the product that they promote has positive effects on my social, emotional, and physical wellbeing. I make better sleep, nutrition and overall life choices due to the martial arts. The facility is world class and you will not find better anywhere in the city. Finally the staff who I consider family at this point is invested in me and my community. I’m not just a number I am their brother and it shows through both their words and actions. Thanks Gracie Barra for being my home away from home.”
