We also love the diversity of students, male, female, young, and old. There are a number of Jiu Jitsu philosophies and approaches. We chose Gracie because they focus on self-defense, not sport. Their combatives program is mature, structured, and combined with outstanding online curriculum makes this an incredible value. Since most street fights end up on the ground, I highly recommend you check them out. 2023 UPDATE: We are now 3 years into our Gracie journey and it continues to exceed our expectations! My son and I both received our blue belts from Ryron Gracie (what an honor!) and my youngest son is now in the Combatives program. Coach Rey is a phenomenal coach and does an incredible job teaching everyone, from brand-new beginners to seasoned veterans. His attention to detail is incredible and his easy-to-understand analogies and explanations help his teaching stick. If you're considering a self-defense program, look no further.
