“I could say so many positive things about this place that would echo many of the other reviews (worth reading), but it all boils down to authenticity to me. Every aspect of our experience over the past few months has been authentic - the welcoming atmosphere, strong sense of community/belonging/support, sharing of knowledge, challenging each other, and excellent teaching of real world application are all things our family appreciates. The art of Jiu Jitsu is a lifestyle for the Padilla family, not just a sport, which can be hard to come by in the world of martial arts. Our family recommends 100%!”

“Where do I begin... This place is exceptional at everything they do, not only teaching but connecting with the students. Everything about this place makes you feel welcome and invited from the first time you step on the mats. The instructors genuinely know what they are doing and make sure you do as well, even if you don't get the move at first. Everyone is safe and instructed how to execute the moves in a safe way. Everyone is polite and kind with a sense of community. As someone who started Jiu Jitsu in July 2024 I can say that it was one of my best decisions in my life, from being able to go after school and having a good time or going on the weekend to start your day, everything about this place is amazing. Everything is authentic from the little things to the teaching of real world application. I highly recommend this place, 5 stars.”

“Jason and Desiree Padilla exemplify charisma and extensive knowledge within the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu community. Despite significant growth, their classes maintain a high level of personal attention, ensuring assistance with techniques and prompt responses to questions. Embodying the 33 principles, they stand out as exceptional martial artists in our community. The affordability of their programs is truly justified, offering multiple training options. Jason, hosting Gracie Bully Proof and Gracie Combatives, showcases extraordinary patience and knowledge. Desiree, as the women's empowered instructor, teaches with compassion and understanding, demonstrating remarkable confidence and charisma. For those seeking value for their money, this is the ideal place to enroll. I highly recommend experiencing the expertise of this remarkable family and embracing the Gracie way.”

“Gracie Jiu Jitsu Grand Junction is tremendous! Period. The curriculum Jason and Desiree Padilla follow is simple and effective. They focus on safety and going as slow as possible with high regard to your comfort level. I highly recommend taking the 10 day free trial as an introduction. The atmosphere at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Grand Junction is fun, friendly and welcoming to everyone at their own level. There is no ego or demands placed on any practitioners. The mental focus, flexibility and friendships gained are worth it. As a former varsity high school wrestler, United States Marine, snowboarder, mountain biker, CrossFit athlete and martial artist I have found Gracie Jiu Jitsu to be a necessary part of healthy lifestyle. I look forward to continued group classes as well as private lessons with Jason.”

“Jason and Desiree are awesome! They are super humble and knowledgeable. All the instructors are very nice and detail oriented. They take their time with each student individually and make sure that everyone is treated equal and is learning efficiently. Most importantly, they make sure you are learning safe while having fun in the process, so that you won't leave with any injuries and are excited to come back to learn and continue the journey in Jiu-jitsu”
