Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“Gracie Jiu Jitsu of Ocoee has been a great experience for my son. He just finished up his first 4-week program and has fallen in love with it! The lessons and skills that he is learning will serve him greatly as he continues to mature. Coach Daimion and the other coaches he has working with him are great at connecting with the kids! Thank you so much!”
“I absolutely love this place! I did the 10 day free trial for my kiddos, this gives us plenty of time to decide if we like the classes. Spoiler alert, we love them! Coach Daimion is great with the kids and they truly learn a lot while having fun! We have already signed up and are super excited to continue this journey. I highly recommend Gracie Jiu Jitsu Ocoee!”
“While this school offered a strong start for my son, I cannot give more than one star due to how safety concerns and communication were ultimately handled. My son attended Gracie Jiu Jitsu Ocoee for over two years. When he started, he was dealing with bullying at school, and the program’s gentle, non-competitive approach to conflict resolution was exactly what he needed. He built real friendships, gained confidence, and truly loved being part of the community. Those early experiences will always be meaningful to both of us. However, as time went on, our experience changed. My son was consistently paired with new beginners, which limited his ability to be challenged. He was also passed over for the intermediary BBC Prep course despite clear emotional and skill-level growth. He had grown in every area including focus, regulation, resilience, and technique. Meanwhile, several children who had only been in the program for a few months with no prior experience were invited to join. When I raised my concerns, I was told he was not ready, based on outdated observations that no longer reflected who he is. It felt dismissive and unfair. In March, I had a single late payment due to an unexpected travel disruption and the sudden passing of my brother. I remitted payment as soon as we returned, yet was met with a policy email and an immediate request for a late fee, without any acknowledgment of the circumstances, even though they were publicly known. From that point forward, the tone shifted dramatically. The owner’s wife, who previously greeted us warmly, stopped acknowledging us entirely. It became clear that we were no longer treated as valued members of the community, and the atmosphere turned unwelcoming. The final issue came in class, when my son was repeatedly slapped, kicked, and kneed during sparring by another student. He asked the student to stop multiple times, and the behavior was acknowledged by the student afterward, yet no coach intervened. When I brought this up respectfully, it was dismissed outright. The same day I had already decided to withdraw him, we were sent a termination notice with no attempt to address the concern constructively. While I will always be grateful for what the program gave my son in the beginning, the shift in how we were treated, from communication to safety to simple human kindness, made it clear that it was time for us to move on. I hope sharing our experience helps other parents feel empowered to advocate for their children when something no longer feels right.”
“Very kind and wonderful people keep this place running. If you're on the fence about learning jiu-jitsu, especially if you're worried about not fitting in, please give it a shot. I always feel so welcomed and included here, and the skills you learn will help you feel safer out in our unpredictable world. Clean facility, convenient location, I have zero complaints.”
“Such a fantastic facility for all ages! Such an accessible location as they are located right next to Publix. You can register for a free trail session. They offer classes for children and adults. There are a variety of different types of courses like bulletproof, self defense, Master Cycle, combative, and private sessions available. The staff is friendly and the instructor is very knowledgeable. Definitely come check them out!”
