I stumbled across Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Southwest in my search for a school near our home, and what an absolute blessing that was! I enrolled my oldest daughter in the Bullyproof program (exactly the type of thing I was looking for) and she immediately fell in love with it. The coaches are so good with the kids and they communicate the instruction in a way they understand while simultaneously making it FUN! They teach character building and incentivize the kids to do well even at home with the Gracie Game Day program. It’s truly an amazing system. Once my wife saw what was involved and what was being taught, she immediately loved it! After a few months of my daughters doing it, I took the plunge and joined the Combatives program! It has been a blast and I have learned a ton so far. The coaches truly care about your safety and your journey. Everyone there is incredibly nice and professional while also making us feel like family. I look forward to continuing this journey with my daughters and being a part of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Southwest family for years to come!”

“This is a great place if you want to learn jiu jitsu and be in a supportive, nurturing, respectful environment. The owners, coaches and staff (especially Alice at the front) are all great and friendly. Coach Lee and Coach Christina (the owners) really care about everyone that comes through the doors. They are so welcoming, patient, and talented regardless if you are a kid or adult. There is a jiu jitsu place that is only 5 minutes from my house, but after coming here we knew this was the place to be even though it was 20 minutes away. I originally came here for my 6 year old boy, but since the trial was free and ten days long, my 8 year old girl decided to give it a try as well. After the trial, she was faced with continuing gymnastics (which she loved and had been doing for 3 years), or stay with jiu jitsu. It was too much for us to do both. She chose jiu jitsu because she really enjoyed the classes, was instantly comfortable with the coaches, and liked the other kids in the class. My wife and were so surprised. Our kids have been here now for half a year and they are just as excited to come like it was their first day. They truly seem like they have joy every time they are at practice.”

“Despite limited experience at Gracie, I enjoyed every minute I spent there. It is a professionally run, kid-friendly, woman-friendly BJJ gym. Many class options, with a clear, steady progression in skills. Safety and cleanliness are emphasized, both of which are a must at any martial arts gym. Christina (owner) is good people - always cheerful and remembers your name. If I could make it work, I’d be a member there. I appreciate the emphasis on self-defense skills, especially for women. The Women Empowered series is what I was looking for.”
