If you are looking for the best Jiu jitsu training in Baton Rouge, this is it! The Professor and his wife are both black belt instructors and high school teachers, so they definitely have the experience and the patience to deal with a classroom full of energized kids! The coaches to student ratio make it beneficial for each student to get individualized attention. Their style of teaching by simplifying moves makes it easy for the kids to remember and grasp concepts (for example: grab the collar and go poop in the woods 😂, steal their hand and stick it in your pocket, lay on your side and run like Mario….. etc). This is the ideal place for you and your kids to come and safely conquer your fears and build a whole new level of confidence! Definitely try them out, you won’t regret it!

Dropped into the Highland road gym while I was attending a conference in Baton Rouge. It was easy to find. Super clean gym with super soft mats. I jumped into the evening class on a Monday. Not too crowded, and a good mix of upper belts and lower belts. The class was fun and technical. We learned two or three finishes. The instructor was really nice, but you know he is a savage just from the hand shake. Solid gym, I will drop in anytime I’m in the neighborhood. 10/10 would recommend to any BJJ practitioner.

I’m sending 3 kids there. Coaches are very good and patient with little kids and my younger kids have learned how to respect others. My teenager has built great relationships with coaches and considers the coaches as her trusted mentors. My kids are learning being stay strong not only physically but also mentally. This is a great way to have my kids to have confidence and manners.

I have a 5 yr old on the spectrum fire ball of a son. The 1st 2 weeks I was ready to give up on it. My son wasn't listening to any directives, authority nor falling in line with the structure. He would just run around while other children would be following directives and I would just cry, i was mortified. It got to the point they would hold him and teach or put him in time-out but they never gave up on him. Two months later, my son received his 1st stripe on his belt and that's all he talks about. All I have to do is remind him that I meet with the coaches weekly to report his behavior and any behavior that is not pleasing I have to report. He'll say; "I'm sorry Mommy, it's important for me to listen to get a stripe on my belt." WELL IF THAT WHAT IT TAKES, I'LL TAKE IT! I used to sit there and watch my son be overstimulated and out of control, he still has his moments but not nearly as before. I used to sit there and think "I hate it here" but now I appreciate the coaches gentleness, soft tone, compassion and love for the kids. I know this was long but it's changing my son's and I life, I'm sure it will change yours.

Chef did such a great job with his first location that he had to open a second. This new gym is fantastic and is still run by the same amazing staff. They are incredible with kids. The transformation in my young boys has been a sight. They’re brimming with confidence and love getting to wrestle with other kids. Life skills abound while the fun doesn’t stop. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!
