I have been training at House of Salt for about two and a half years now. I initially trained for about three months at the end of 2021. At the time, I was one of few girls at the school. The existing girls were so welcoming and helpful. When I came back to the school in 2023, the atmosphere was still the same and I felt right back at home. Everyone at HOS is so welcoming and supportive. Sara and Jesus truly have built an amazing community within the school. So happy to see so many more women joining the gym as well.

I have been training at House of Salt for more than 3 years now and I couldn’t have picked a better place to learn a martial art. Jesus and Sara provide top notch instruction, with a strong focus on technique and progression. They genuinely care about their students and foster a positive environment. The community is incredibly welcoming and supportive, making it easy to feel at home whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner. House of Salt is the best place on the shore to train BJJ, cannot recommend this place enough!

I had the opportunity to train here during a work trip, and it was fantastic. I attended both No Gi and Gi jiu jitsu classes, both of which were amazing. Jesus, the instructor, was exceptional—providing plenty of details and valuable tips. The facility was impeccably clean, including the mats, bathrooms, and changing rooms. Jesus and Sarah were incredibly welcoming, and the schedule offered a ton of classes to fit my schedule. The gym's culture was top-notch; I had great experiences rolling with everyone. I highly recommend this gym for training, especially for locals—it's a no-brainer. Thank you for the wonderful experience and solid rolls!

When I first entered House of Salt, I had no martial arts experience and was really just looking for a fun way to stay active (because I don’t like going to the gym) and to make new friends since I had recently moved to the area. I’ve been training for about 2 years now and can say that walking into HOS was the best decision I could’ve made. I love the mental and physical challenge that comes with practicing jiu-jitsu. But more than that, HOS is a very special place…the community is warm and welcoming, and the coaches are phenomenal. Highly recommend!!

I started training when I was 10 months postpartum with my third child, carrying baby weight and having limited mobility in my hips. Nervous as heck because I had never been a part of a public exercise class or gym. I found myself welcomed with open arms to the women's class. After my first night I was hooked and could not wait to go back. For the past two years, all of my free time has been happily spent at the school. I'm currently 65lbs down from my starting weight with little exercise outside of jiujitsu. My two children ages 5 & 7 are taking classes 5 days a week along with my husband. House of salt not only became the safe space I needed to help change my mind and body, but has also helped the dynamic of my family in many ways. My children have benefited so greatly from the discipline and confidence that jujutsu gives them. In addition to all of the above I've met my very best friends here. Friends that have turned into family. When you walk in you will feel it too.
