Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“With no prior training history, I was very diligent in my search for a local gym to start my Jiu-Jitsu journey. I was very nervous and anxious about getting started until I stumbled across Lōkahi Jiu-Jitsu Collective in a google search. I reached out to them for information and within a few hours, Nolan reached out to me directly. Rather than focusing on marketing the gym to me, he had a conversation with me about my journey. He seemed genuinely interested in understanding my “why” and you could feel his excitement for Jiu-Jitsu in his voice. He shared his story and answered any questions that I had about the process. I am now 5 months in and my experience at Lokahi has been second to none. Every day I walk in, I feel at home. Coaches are always there early and greet you when you walk in. Everyone I have met so far has treated me with respect and pushed me to get better. I played a lot of team sports growing up, but I’ve never felt the sense of community that I feel when I am at Lōkahi. The group is very supportive and passionate about the culture. The classes are structured well. As a new white belt, you are required to complete their Foundations classes. These classes teach some basic techniques and best practices to roll safely. They are a little bit lower intensity and primarily focused on building a good baseline for your skills. I have primarily trained with Nolan and Guy, and each of them bring something unique to the mat. They’re knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping you improve. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to level up your game, this is the place to be. I couldn’t imagine a better environment to start my journey. Thanks team!”
“I’m brand new to Jiu-Jitsu, and starting out at Lōkahi Jiu-Jitsu Collective has been an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, everyone made me feel welcome. A huge shoutout to Ryan, who helped me get started and got me set up in the foundations class — the perfect place to begin learning the basics of the discipline. I had an absolute blast learning the fundamentals. The way the class is structured makes everything approachable, even if you’ve never done anything like this before. The coaches are knowledgeable and patient, and the entire vibe of the gym is positive, respectful, and super friendly. It’s a great space for anyone just starting their Jiu-Jitsu journey. Highly recommend Lōkahi if you’re thinking about diving into Jiu-Jitsu — you’ll feel right at home.”
“Reached out to Lokahi BJJ as I was in town for the night on business. Great experience with Isaac and the team. Brilliant facilities and felt it was a safe environment to roll. Highly recommend to anyone who is in town.”
“It’s not often you find a jiujitsu gym that’s a whole facility complete with locker rooms, clean showers, and a sick weight lifting area (via The Lab). More importantly, everyone is kind, instructors are detail oriented, and the atmosphere is excellent. I’ve trained at many gyms across the nation, and Lokahi is at the top of the list for its culture, facility amenities, and impeccable aesthetic. Stick around long enough and not only will your jiujitsu improve, but Coach Ryan might snag awesome pictures of you too 🙃”
“Outstanding gym! The owners were intentional about everything in the gym, and it shows. Having trained martial arts at several gyms, this experience was second to none. Experience: The environment is incredibly welcoming. From high level black belts to new students everyone is there to learn, improve, and help the other members. Classes cover a wide range of material from fundamental tactics to advanced techniques, and Mr. J's leg lock class. Teaching: The instructors are all experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled at breaking down techniques at all levels. Lessons include demonstration, drilling, and some live situational rolling. Gym: Everything is well maintained and clean. The locker rooms are spacious and have showers. There's also a full gym with equipment for a wide variety of training. Overall: This gym covers everything. The only thing better than the great facilities and instruction is the people that run the facility and it's members.”
