The professors, coaches and members are all there for the same reasons, because they love BJJ and the people they share it with. This community is supportive, educational and full of like minded locals. We are very happy here!”
“For a little context, on 8/4/23 I was in a motorcycle accident and spent 1.5 months in the hospital(all thanks to God). When I was a little more than a year post injury I began training/learning at mchugh and am a few weeks in. The environment has been nothing short of astonishing in how supportive and understanding they have been. Best part of all is that for most classes the lowest rank/belt is paired with the highest student in the class(once females have paired off in the same fashion). Doing this allows for someone with a lot of experience to train with someone with no experience, leading to a quick learning curve. I could not recommend McHugh enough for the environment of support and learning.”
“As their mother, I am unsure if my kids have that competitive gene especially with physical sport. We definitely did not put them in jiujitsu for that reason. We chose jiujitsu bc it keeps them active, they gain the tools to protect themselves if need be, they make new friends & have FUN. McHugh HQ really aligns with each of those objectives. But, my two older children just competed in their In-house tournament and they really gave it their all… REALLY focused and worked to the end of their matches. I have to give flowers to their professors, coaches, staff, teammates and fellow parents/family members bc that drive to do well mostly stemmed from the comfort of being at their jiujitsu school where they felt comfortable to lose a match bc if you lose to a teammate/friend, are you really losing? TL;DR: The team at McHugh teach exceptionally well, that is a given…but they foster friendships and build self-confidence.”
“A great place to learn jiu jitsu. Great kids and adult classes, great instructors, and a great community of people. The instructors work hard to allow the kids to learn while having fun, and for adults they have morning, noon, and evening class options. Everyone is nice and supportive, helping each other to improve and succeed while keeping each other safe.”
“Best decision ever to start training here. Love this place. Coaches and professors are awesome. People and culture is incredible, everyone is friendly and always willing to help. Training here makes me a better person, father and always wanting improve myself. The tribe definitely has changed my life for the better.”
