“Great place for newcomers to the sport and veterans. Jack’s gym and coaches are all very welcoming people. The long time students are just as warm as well. Walking in for the first time can be intimidating but the environment and the vibe of the gym quickly washes that away within the first 5 minutes. If you’re interested in learning martial arts or just wanting to keep your body moving, I recommend this place 100 x’s over.”

“Over the last year I have been training with Coach Jack. I have gotten to know him and several regulars with the Academy. The environment is one that welcomes new faces and can tailor lessons to those with years of experience or no experience at all.. Over the last year my wife and closest friends have watched the changes in me and my body getting into an improved physical condition Jack allows and encourages everyone to train at their own pace. The Academy has several people with varying skills and experience and it’s great to work with each of them to gain experience and knowledge. Jack has over 30 years of experience and when he explains something he can share the why it works or not. Other Martial Arts Academy’s might be good but the experience he has simply cannot be matched.”

“McVicker’s is the only martial arts gym I’ve been in so far. That being said, I can’t imagine it being much better. (Attending primarily Tue and Thurs classes) Jack and Mark are two great coaches, super insightful and nice as well. The atmosphere and energy in the gym is really solid. The format of the classes are great and you can find awesome training partners everywhere you look.”
