Classes are already up and running while the other amenities are working to completion. Having already trained there, I can tell you that the mats are clean and the training is top notch.”

“My son has been training with Metro Jiu Jitsu for about 5 years now, and we have had nothing but a great experience. The coaches have been great as well as the other kids and families that also train there. He loves to compete, and the coaches have done a great job to prepare him for his tournaments. He hopes to one day get his black belt. I was overjoyed to learn that they were opening up a second location in Westland, so they can offer up the BJJ training experience to those outside the Southgate area.and hope that others can enjoy the experience like my son has. We were excited to see the new facility, so I took my son to train there during a Friday class. The new facility looked great. There was plenty of mat space to train, and a nice lounge to watch my son while he trained. It looked like there would be a nice spacious area upstairs for the offices, and possibly an area for a weight or fitness area. It also looked like the locker/changing rooms would also be nice and roomy. If you or your child has ever considered training in BJJ, and live near the Westland area, I would highly recommend checking them out.”

“I’m so excited to see Metro open a SECOND location! The space is absolutely amazing—bright, clean, and spacious, creating the perfect environment to train. One thing I really appreciate is how Coach David adjusts the room temperature. He turns the heat all the way up, helping us sweat more, which is great for improving mobility during class. Coach Fox teaches excellent technique that’s both practical and effective. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, you’re guaranteed to learn something valuable that you can either apply right away or store for later. I’ve grown so much as a practitioner here, and the new location is an awesome addition to the already fantastic experience. Coach Jabril does a fantastic job with the kids’ program. He’s great at keeping the kids engaged while teaching them solid fundamentals. It’s inspiring to see the next generation of jiu-jitsu practitioners growing under his guidance. “Love the new gym. My entire family has been apart of the Metro Jiu Jitsu FAMILY for about three years now, training personally for just over half that time. New facility here in Westland is awesome! Coaches are the best with plenty of knowledge for all levels of your jiu jitsu journey. If you are a parent with kids training, you are able to sit separately without disturbing the class but watch through glass as if you are right there. Best decision my family has ever made. We are all happier, healthier and will have something to share together for the rest of our lives! All the gold medals at our house aren’t bad either : )”
