Love this place, the people who run it and the people who train here! Bobby and Amanda have built a friendly, chill, accepting environment with great coaching and all kinds of people on the mat. (And cool swag) Even in a big class you get individual attention. It's a great place for women to train whether you go to the dedicated women's class with Amanda or the coed classes or both. Wish I had more time to spend here!

Loved my time at open source while in the area for a wedding. Good rounds and a safe environment for everyone. Would return and recommend!

Open Source is a must visit jiu-Jitsu gym when in Asheville. Tons of mat space. A DIY/eclectic atmosphere. great coaches awesome owners. A wonderful community and strong ethos. I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s a perfect place to begin a jiu-jitsu journey. And the Sunday open mat is probably the best open mat in town.

The BEST! Been coming here for a couple months now as an inexperienced white belt. Bobby and Amanda are a great team and the general vibe of the gym is laid back, warm, and welcoming. Great atmosphere to get into Jiu Jitsu!

Sometimes it’s hard to have fun training at a different place as a visiting black belt; everyone wants to kill you! This was NOT the case at Open Source. Very friendly folks with technical training and no one was “going for gold.” Sprung floor was a nice upgrade from most gyms as well. Would definitely recommend them if you are in the Asheville area.
