“My kids, ages 7 and 9, attended Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Laguna Hills for over a year. While the environment offered fun activities for kids, it lacked a strong focus on actual Jiu-Jitsu practice. About 95% of the time, my children were playing games like dodgeball or duck-duck-goose, with very little Jiu-Jitsu training involved. We continued attending because my kids enjoyed the fun activities and we had friends in the program. About 5 months ago, all parents were very actively encouraged to leave positive reviews while attending the practice. However, we decided to wait, as we weren’t completely satisfied and wanted to leave an accurate review if we decided to withdraw. About a month ago, I decided to withdraw my kids as they had not acquired much of the skills. This felt more like an after-school activity where parents wait while kids play. Coach Lee and Coach Chip had great personalities, which kept us going for a while, but after a recent ownership change, even the fun atmosphere started to fade. If you’re looking for a place where your children can learn Jiu-Jitsu, this may not be the best fit. However, if you're seeking an after-school gaming activity for kids, this might be worth considering.”

“My children ages 8, 10, 12 have been training with Coach Lee and Coach Chip for a few months. They enjoy learning valuable skills to bully proof themselves. Not only are the techniques effective, the coaches make class fun and safe. This is one of the few activities we don’t struggle with attending, the kiddos are always eager to train! “Been going here for about three or four months now. I love how they are so kid friendly and patient. The Teachers and Coaches are very kind and thoughtful, they make sure each child has 1 on 1 time with a coach and rotate out. My child has leveled up 3 times now. Since starting, My child has gone from getting written up almost every day at school, to getting awards, golden tickets, and 100%’s on all their tests. They also hand out Pokeman cards at the end of class after they play freeze ball/tag, it excites all of the kids to do better and show up. We now own a pokeman collector book and add our cards after every class. Gracie has transformed my child from a class disruption into a straight A student in 3/4 months. I am over joyed.
