“I started training with Coach Spencer in November of 2021 and in the 3 months since (as I’m writing this it’s 02/09/2022) my understanding of Jiujitsu has totally changed and grown for the better. I had my first competition back in January and thanks to Coach Spencer none of my opponents were able to tap me out and the match stayed live until the clock hit zero. “Pythagoras Jiu-Jitsu is a great place to train and learn the gentle art of Jiu-Jitsu. It is not the biggest gym in SWFL but Spencer has incredible knowledge of the sport and offers a unique perspective on leg attacks/defense that a lot of other gyms don't emphasize often. The team is very friendly and welcoming and as it's a smaller gym, you'll get more one on one instruction from one of the best blackbelts in the area. I am proud to be a member of Pythagoras Jiu-Jitsu. Our motto is "We Over Me". Come check us out!”

“If you are anywhere near Punta Gorda and would like to begin jiu jitsu or continue your jiu jitsu journey, Pythagoras Jiu Jitsu is the place for you! The owner Spencer Mumme is a long time veteran of martial arts and displays beautiful jiu jitsu when competing at the highest levels as well as provides an awesome jiu jitsu curriculum. His students are highly skilled and very welcoming. Highly recommend!”
