No big egos and they all help one another, coaching and cheering eachother on. World class champions come out of there. The striking is relatively new with Jared and Aaron (Doofy). Both have an amazing energy when it comes to teaching and the outlook on how to teach. Jared and Doofy both bringing top notch instructions with a vast amount of experience to back that teaching up. “Queen City Grappling Club is easily the best place to train, regardless of experience level. I switched gyms to train here roughly 8-9 months ago, however I have been dropping in to some weekly classes and their Sunday open mat sessions for a few years now. Ruben and the rest of the gym have always been welcoming since the first day I stopped in. Ruben and the rest of the coaches do a fantastic job at holding to a “No B.S.” policy. Never, at any point since I stepped through the doors, have I experienced anything that made me question the level of commitment and care that they have for everyone on the mats, regardless of their background. The level of instruction in the gym is top notch. I’ve trained at a couple of gyms full time in PA and OH, and have trained at multiple different gyms on the east and west coast while traveling for work. After rolling with people in these gyms typically the first question or remark I get is “Damn, where did you say you train again?” The instructors all have an excellent understanding of basic fundamentals, and have a variety of accolades from some of the most well known tournaments in the country. The rest of the team have some very impressive competition results as well, so there is no shortage of excellent knowledge on the mats. Whether you’re just starting out, have been training a while and are looking to make a switch, or are just looking to visit from out of town, I can’t recommend Queen City Grappling Club enough. The level of instruction is incredible, the energy in the room is always great, and the schedule can fit even the most hectic of schedules.”
