“I’ve never had any experience with bjj let alone any martial arts but the professors and community here at Ralph Gracie San Ramon have made it an experience I can’t stop raving about. From the first class and first “roll” I’ve been addicted. All the professors (Jake, Paulo, Rodrigo, Jorge to name a few) are super friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. They all do a great job to foster a respectful but competitive environment in each class to get the best out of all the students. They offer a good mix of classes at different times of the day that can fit most anyone’s schedules. They also offer kids classes that start as young as 3 years of age. With the new year they’ve also added more classes with the traditional gi but also no gi classes and future plans of adding Muay Thai as well. The gym is well maintained with clean mats for instruction and rolling, a small matted section with a bench press, kettlebells and an assault bike for use as well, and clean bathrooms. I can’t stop raving about the great experience I’ve had here and hope that if anyone in the area is interested in bjj to give this place a call and drop in for a class to find out first hand why.”

“I’m sure this is a wonderful place overall, but definitely not for neurodivergent children. My wife and I set up a trial class and made it very clear about the challenges that our son has. Long story short, our son was thrown into class and was expected to listen and follow all directions. They cut class short for him after 10 minutes and we had to leave with him bawling his eyes out since he wasn’t able to participate. They invited us to try again, but there’s no way I will ever allow my child in here again.”
