“I have trained at the Ralph Gracie academy in the peninsula and South Bay for nearly five years. I started as a noob white belt and am now a purple belt. The instructors, and fellow students have provided a challenging, safe, and welcoming environment to grow into the practice of Jiu-Jitsu. The journey is not easy, but is very rewarding. The instructors at the academy include head instructor, Justin "Machine" Holder, Dorian "D" Cartwright, and Darren "Chef" Ogasawara. The standard of instruction is high with emphasis on solid and consistent fundamentals, sustainable practice, self-defense, and practical execution. The community at the academy are welcoming and hard working, which are essential to learning and getting better. If you are a competitor, hobbyist, have fitness goals, or want a more interesting experience than the gym check out our two locations in San Jose and Santa Clara.”
