“Today, I dropped into the Adult (Gi) Fundamentals class. It was GREAT!! I was welcomed with open arms, and the main instructor told me he'd once trained under Professor Marra (the academy where I train) when he visited San Antonio. I loved the class format!! All drills were for time with pressure. I trained the majority of the class with a blue belt who pushed me to my limits without "killing me." I'm so happy I could experience a different academy. Everyone has a unique style and something special to pass on to those open to learning.”

“The best way to get started is just to walk in on a weekday. Phone and email didn't work, so we didn't get started soon enough. You can start at any time with no specific class dates. There are all ages classes and two classes going on simultaneously for younger and older kids. The classes are very safe. There is adequate observation from the instructors during the kids' class with an emphasis on how to train safely. Gee will be supplied by facility, but if you have your own gee that is acceptable to. I know it's not preferred but late arrival to class is okay. Sometimes it's hard getting out of the office. I highly recommend this place. It is time and money very well spent. You will walk away with excellent instruction and training. In addition Professor Vannesa and Ben, the owners, are very personable. You will feel welcome. Other matial arts places I would describe the environment as weird, so I was hesitant to come here. This place is awesome, and I am really grateful to have the opportunity to experience it.”

“I am a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, 15 years experience, 100s of matches, and have trained at some of the best gyms under the best coaches all over the country. So take it from me, RED RIVER BJJ is top notch and one of the best and friendliest places I have ever been to. The instructors are there to help you to get better and very personable. It is a great choice for beginners and advanced practitioners. Great community of people. You will get a good workout and have fun doing. Focus on both self defense and sportive application. Clean mats with plenty of rolling space. No drama, no bs, just solid JJ. I highly recommend this place.”

“Red River BJJ has an amazing atmosphere whether you’re interested in starting your jiu jitsu journey or experienced, I was greeted as soon as I walked in. They offer classes for everyone from different age groups of kids, adult fundamentals, advanced and pirates (40+). This gym creates the perfect training environment (especially for those wanting to start their journey) while being one of the few academies to still teach traditional martial arts values. I highly recommend RR BJJ!”

“I have dropped in at many gyms across the country and Red River BJJ is definitely one of the best. Had the pleasure of stopping in for an open mat while in town. Professor Ben, all the other coaches and students were incredibly welcoming. Great rolls and sparking clean facility. Highly recommend.”
