Not even half way through my vacation on the island and already have had the pleasure to train a couple of times with Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Team HK in Honolulu. This school does it all. They offer a self-defense oriented curriculum, while also teaching modern effective sportive techniques. You can find both hobbyists and competitors training here, people to train with from white to black belt levels, people of all sizes, and both women and men in a very welcoming and cooperative learning environment. Finally, the lead instructor and owner is a 7th degree black belt instructor trained directly by Relson Gracie. I would imagine him to be one of highest ranked jiu-jitsu instructors on the island. More importantly, I have seen both him and his instructors make themselves openly available to myself and their their students. I hope to stop by at least a couple of more times before I leave Oahu. They even offer a generous free trial period. If you are in the Honolulu area, you have absolutely nothing to lose checking this school out. I can’t say enough good things about the school culture, the instructors, and the students.”
