This is the location of the famous “blue basement” where that created many world-class instructors, and MMA and BJJ world champions. With three floors, they offer gi and no-gi BJJ, Muay Thai, and MMA. As a Renzo Gracie black belt and fellow academy owner, I’ve been training here since the late 90’s. If you’re looking for top quality training in this part of Manhattan, this is the place to go.”

“I wanted to like this place as much as its other nyc locations but the kids class instructors leave much to be desired. They are two purple belt young men who spend the class laughing and joking with each other, talking about personal things and texting. They are too immature to teach and lack the professionalism and discipline this sport requires. A school with such a prestigious name should have better quality teachers.”
