βA great way to spend a Sunday morning in Renzo's Academy in NYC. Nice technical session and sparring, Professor was very welcoming, as were the students. Thanks all π₯ππβ
βIβve visited a morning gi class taught by Jason at the academy while on a work trip to NYC. Enjoyed the class, felt looked after by students and the professor, enjoyed rolling!. WVery structured, creative, but with attention to fundamentals. Highly recommended, Iβll come over again when around in SFβ
βThis is the HQ of Team Renzo Gracie, and has been at the forefront of the BJJ scene in NYC since the 1990βs. This is the location of the famous βblue basementβ where that created many world-class instructors, and MMA and BJJ world champions. With three floors, they offer gi and no-gi BJJ, Muay Thai, and MMA. As a Renzo Gracie black belt and fellow academy owner, Iβve been training here since the late 90βs. If youβre looking for top quality training in this part of Manhattan, this is the place to go.β
βI stopped in for the Saturday class and it was very welcoming. I will admit these guys are tough rolls but thatβs what you want if you want to get better. I will definitely be back. I am a member of Daniel Gracie Philly and I will say the hospitality runs in the family.β
βI wanted to like this place as much as its other nyc locations but the kids class instructors leave much to be desired. They are two purple belt young men who spend the class laughing and joking with each other, talking about personal things and texting. They are too immature to teach and lack the professionalism and discipline this sport requires. A school with such a prestigious name should have better quality teachers.β
