“VERY disappointed in this company to say the least. My husband and I signed my son up for Jui Jitsu classes here at Renzo Gracie. After attending multiple classes and a few months later we decided that it didn’t fit into our schedule anymore so we called to cancel our membership. All was good until about 6 months later we see a charge on our bank account for $130. We called their office to explain to them that we canceled many months ago and we would like our money back. They explained to us that we would have to come into their office to sign a form to cancel our membership and that we would not get our money back (because they use a 3rd party credit card company and have no control over this). Which we were upset about but willing to let it go. So my husband drove to their location during open hours to sign the form the same day we talked to them. The doors were locked and when we called the office they said they were in a meeting and could not attend our needs right now. So on the second attempt 2 days later my husband was able to walk in and sign the form to cancel our membership. 4 days later we were charged another $130 on our bank account!! So I immediately called their office and spoke to the owner, he told me that when I signed the form it could take 30 days to process the cancellation of the membership and he has no control over the billing because its done by a 3rd party credit card company. I was told I would not get any of my money back. I know this is not true they DO have control over this, I am very familiar with how a business is run and deal with credit card companies on a daily basis and I know that they are able to contact them and settle this problem. It doesn’t make any sense why I was charged $130 TWICE in the matter of a week for a service I was not receiving. He gave me the run around again about the credit card processing company and how they are a 3rd party company and they have no control over this. ALL OF THIS NONSENSE to cancel a membership for a child’s jiu jitsu class. Not to mention, when you sign up they offer you three different membership options. One was to pay in full for the year, it was the least expensive. Second was a 1 year commitment but billed monthly. Third was pay monthly and cancel anytime. This third option was the most expensive but I chose this option because I wanted to make sure my son liked it and with our busy schedule it was easier to know I could cancel at anytime without any extra fees. Well I was so wrong. There is no respect here for other peoples time and money. They did not even apologize for any of this, just gave an "oh well" attitude. After calling and texting them many times to resolve this and giving them the benefit of the doubt, I DID NOT receive my refund of $260. I really wanted to like this company, and tried giving them a chance to make this right before writing this review but unfortunately they do not care. After reading other reviews it looks like I am not the only one who has had this problem. Other customers have explained their same unfortunate situation. They have also been reported to the better business bureau for the same reason. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD OR BANK CARD INFORMATION. A month later and I am now out of $260, and they could care less. They never reached out to resolve this or even apologize for all my wasted time and effort. I am paying for something I am not receiving and I refuse to send my son here after the disrespect. STAY AWAY.”

“Where to start! First off, thank you to Professor Kevin and his wife, Karis, for welcoming us to the family. My son has only been coming for a couple months now but I'm already starting to see an improvement in his overall attitude, and he really loves going to the academy to train. When we first met with Professor Kevin, I explained to him that my son has epilepsy, and we were concerned with him getting hit in the head, etc. Professor Kevin was more than understanding of this and assured me he would be safe. At no point have I felt like he has been in a position to get hurt before he learns "how to fall". It's such a great peace of mind for us. Big shout out to all the instructors as well, especially instructor David. His Saturday classes are always high energy and fun and my son loves the "before practice" on the mats before class starts. Classes with instructor Ty, Jillian and Carly are great as well, especially the Wednesday night class! The facility is very clean and taken care of as well. Thank you again for welcoming us to the family and maybe someday we can get the whole family joined up and training!”

All the professors are cordial and incredibly willing to answer even the dumbest of questions. Everybody that we train with has been really helpful and It really feels like family when you’re there.
