“If that's Jujutsu sign me up! I heard great things about this location and teacher so I drove 40 min for a sparring class. I am brand new with no Martial arts experience. They thoughtfully paired me up with so many amazing people who taught me and answered my questions. Everyone I sparred with was patient and clearly wanted to help me fall in love. ALL 10 PEOPLE. The community is incredible. You can tell everyone is friends. They even invited me to their weekly beers afterwards. The vibe here is NOT MMA. It is community and learning first. The owners intentionally sacrificed mat space for tables and chairs and puzzles. It was clear parents bring their kids for a lesson and then they stay for an adult lesson while the kids hangout. There is even a kids library area (with jujitsu kids books of course). The owner just wants to spread this art. When he heard that I drove so far he immediately started listing off good studios in my neighborhood to checkout. As for jujitsu, I can't tell if I'm more mentally or physically exhausted. It's all about physics and angles and technique not brute strength. I burned 1000cal sweating and wasn't aware. God knows how many more my brain burned.”
