Explore Jiu Jitsu Techniques“I have been here and trained here; so this review is as unbiased as I can possibly make it. The owner name is Robert. This place was formerly known as black sheep mma. I do not recommend you visit this place unless you are a doing a one stay visit. If you want to test the waters you can, but you have been warned. Poor management style, the membership fee is cheap but there are no formal classes with didactics. Open mat is manage by 2 dudes who appear to be normal. As soon as you leave the building; they will start speaking behind your back. If you beat their students; they will gather around secretly and find a way to beat you on the next training. Adults in this building are unmature, grouchy and gossipers. Poor gym culture in general, if Robert does not like you, he will kick you out of the gym. The funny thing about Robert is that he was kicked out of other gyms himself. Albany in general is a segregated city and racism is a problem with Albany or Leesburg; thus, expect to be racially profiled in this building if you are not American by nationality. I can continue with more feedback but this folks are not really worth my time.”
“As a female, I was a bit skeptical when I walked, but my very 1st session had me feeling better mentally and physically. They are very professional, clean, positive, & Ribeiro has THEE best coaches. In my opinion, you get more than what you pay for.”
“I've been practicing Jiu-jitsu for several years now. I've been to many schools and gyms while traveling. I have experienced many types of cultures and gym personalities. Now, on a local level; I have tried the local Jiu-jitsu gyms. This gym keeps me coming back. The culture is growth. I mean becoming a better person. This gym also focuses on safety first. One cannot train if one is hurt, this gym lives by this principle. Learn Jiu-jitsu, but not at the risk of injury.”
“Everything is Clean, and they are very kind and professional.”
