“I recently joined rival bjj and my experience has been nothing short of amazing. Jared the head instructor breaks everything down into an easy to understand manner that even myself (a beginner) can understand and apply. He is able to break down a specific technique that ive had problems with, and within one class i was able to understand the concept clearly. Jared is extremely patient and will take as much time needed to teach you a technique. When you walk into the gym you will feel comfortable and welcome. Their is 0 ego vibe at this school and everyone i have met there has been kind and respectful. I am a father of three children who wanted to get into shape and learn the art (thus i have no time for egos and the gym bro vibe) i feel that this is the perfect place for that. Jared also walks the walk in that he is an extremely skilled bjj practitioner. You may feel a bit intimidated like i did (being a beginner) but once my foot was in the door i am extremely happy i took the leap!”

“Rival is not just a martial arts school, it's a community! I train with the owner (Jared) who is very skilled at BJJ. He was able to communicate and break down techniques with ease. Rival is extremely clean and welcoming to all skill levels. Definitely check them out!”

“This is a fantastic school! I just started training BJJ at the age of 42, I had wanted to get involved for a long time but was intimidated when I walked into other schools full of big headed egos and bros. When I learned about Rival newly opening, I dropped in for an introductory class and was met with an incredible experience with none of the ego. Jared, the owner and head instructor, brings 13 years of experience and is able to break down to the basement bottom basics for an extreme beginner like myself, focusing on nailing down the essentials and building on a strong foundation. Jared will very quickly disarm any apprehension you have walking through doors with his welcoming, ego-free, humble attitude and will adjust to your pace. The other students at this school share the same values as the owner and everyone has been welcoming and patient with my complete lack of skills - they’re also more than happy to help you along your way with pointers and techniques. Dropping in was one of the best decisions I’ve made - I found my school!”

“Clean facility and a welcoming community. Haven't rolled in a few years, but everyone there made me feel comfortable and hitting the mats again after a long hiatus. Will definitely return to train in the future.”
