“Great place to learn how to protect yourself for both kids AND adults. The place is really nice and clean. All the instructors are very nice. I really enjoy the classes and can’t wait to come back!”

“My 3 year old son attends PeeWee classes here. He has attended 3 sessions already including the private lesson or what my husband and I call the "trial session" to see whether our son will be able to follow or will be interested in doing the tasks. We were not sure at first how they were going to teach our son since they are "fighters" :) but we were amazed at how good the coaches are with children. They incorporated fun activities that may look like play but actually target the basics of jiu jitsu. They also modify the task/demand depending on the child's readiness or skills. Providing our son with the right amount of assistance and letting go to give him independence. Our son had some issues though during the second session when other coaches came in that he wasn't familiar with (very typical of young kids) but we took this as a learning experience for our son. The third session, we observed that this "stranger anxiety" was addressed on the mat with the coaches rotating while doing the drills, a good way of getting him familiar with other people thus, improving his social skills and his ability to generalize skills taught.”

“Maybe I’d join if I could actually speak to someone! These people never answer their phone. Answering machine sounds like somebody fumbling the phone after a deep sleep”

“Signed up and was supposed to get a 1 on 1 lesson and never received it. For some reason the head instructor thought I was supposed to know something already and seemed frustrated and uninterested when I told him I’m a beginner. During drills the blue belt coaches will cheat to win the drill. Well at least that happen when I was training. Also I would ask questions but I would get weird angry stares from other coaches that didn’t like me conversating with other coaches during down time or before class. Even tho most students were nice. It was the main head coaches that were not welcoming. I didn’t meet the owner he was not present during the months I trained there. But the rest of the guy staff was terrible at making someone feel welcome. Last but not least. I was the only black person in the gym at the time. Maybe that was an issue. I don’t know. But I will never go back.”
