Sharkside Jiu-Jitsu

“My family has been involved with Sharkside Jiu-Jitsu for the past 2 years. Initially, my husband started taking classes with Brenden Richardson and Mike Lin to learn the basics in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Recently, Sharkside started the Kids BJJ course. My kiddo learned the basic fundamentals of BJJ in a fun and positive environment. Brenden is extremely patient with all of the children there. His instructions are always broken down into simple multistep tasks, which helps my son tremendously. Aside from the instruction, Brenden and his coaches include a fun "ninja course" or game to keep the kids from feeling overwhelmed. My child always has a great time there making new friends. I have also started taking classes with Mike Lin. Mike is knowledgeable, encouraging, and friendly. As an older woman taking a martial arts class for the first time, it was intimidating. But, the entire class was completely welcoming. Mike makes it a point to give thorough directions when teaching a new technique. Mike will break down a technique, and give a general idea of when and why its useful. Mike will also spend time with each participant to answer any questions and to make any corrections. I also appreciate that Mike will give instruction to the advanced participants, and take me to the side to teach basic fundamentals. Our experience with Sharkside Jiu-Jitsu has been amazing. We truly enjoy being apart of Sharkside.”
